In this session, participants will learn about a school's successful transition from a service program based on an hour requirement towards one centering dignity, partnership, and student agency. Participants will learn about how service learning can align with DEI programs to promote civic engagement and social justice from an asset based perspective that counters the deficit and savior narrative that community service programs at independent schools are based upon.
